Indian Authorities Raid Illegal Factories

July 5, 2018

Indian authorities raided 35 factories in what officials called a crackdown on illegal oxytocin manufacturers.

Officials seized drug stocks from two of the factories, the Nelko Chemical Works and Anand Pharmaceuticals, both in the state of Gaya, according to India’s Central Drugs Standard Control Organization.

Nelko’s license to manufacture the peptide hormone expired last August and Anand’s license expired at the end of 2016. Anand’s supply appeared to have been smuggled into India through China, CDSCO said.
