Teamsters Call for Rejection of McKesson’s Audit Committee Chair, Criticizing Anti-Diversion Practices

The International Brotherhood of Teamsters called out McKesson for the company’s alleged failure to properly oversee its anti-diversion program for controlled substances and urged the company’s shareholders to vote against the reelection of the board member who leads the program’s oversight.

In a letter to shareholders, the labor union noted the healthcare company currently faces 394 lawsuits over its opioid distribution practices and has been hit with document requests from dozens of attorneys general in preparation for possible litigation.

“Amid these challenges, investors must insist on an audit committee chair that will ensure more rigorous oversight than provided under the leadership of Marie Knowles,” the union said.
