International Group Launches Device Traceability Study

An international coalition of nonprofits, governments and corporations involved in unique device identification (UDI) of medical devices launched a study at Arizona’s Wickenburg Community Hospital to assess the use of scanning technology to document implants in the operating room.

The hospital is the first in the world to use TRACTUS, a sterile field scanning hardware and software platform developed by Matrix IT Medical Tracking Systems.

The platform documents medical implants, instruments and supplies used during surgery in the operating room.
