Clint Eastwood Sues Drug Company Over Patents

Actor and film producer Clint Eastwood filed a lawsuit against Molecular Defenses Corporation alleging the company illegally obtained patents related to an antioxidant used to fight diabetes.

The complaint in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York alleges MDC stole patents related to glutathione after the owner of the patents, Dr. Harry Demopoulos, suffered a stroke. Eastwood has been a long-time investor in the doctor’s work through his company, the Eastwood Trust.

Demopoulos spent a large part of his life researching glutathione and he is credited by Molecular Defenses Corporation as inventing the free radical pathology field.
