FDA Fights EpiPen Shortage by Extending Expiration Dates

August 22, 2018

The FDA extended expiration dates for certain lots of 0.3 mg EpiPens in an effort to alleviate product shortages.

The agency extended the expiration dates for four months beyond the 20-month approved shelf life that is based on stability data provided by the drugmaker.

The EpiPen supply has been limited in some parts of the U.S. because of raw material disruptions and manufacturing problems.
