FDA to Hold November Meeting to Identify Root Causes of Drug Shortages

The FDA scheduled a Nov. 27 public meeting in Washington, D.C. to discuss the causes of drug shortages and to help find solutions.

The agency planned the meeting in response to a request from Congress to find ways to resolve the ongoing shortages.

The meeting will bring together healthcare providers, patients, manufacturers, wholesalers, PBMs and pharmacists to provide feedback on the underlying systemic causes of shortages and share ideas for solutions.
