Staar Surgical’s Implantable Collamer Lens Cleared by FDA

September 18, 2018

The FDA approved Staar Surgical’s Visian toric implantable collamer lens (TICL) for correcting myopia with astigmatism.

The approval means that the California company’s ICL product line is now cleared to correct refractive errors in patients with both myopia and astigmatism.

Patients between 21 to 45 years of age with dry eye, thin corneas and high levels of nearsightedness are the ideal candidates for the lens.
