Houston Physician and Clinic Owner Sentenced to 35 Years Over Pill Mill Operation

A Houston physician and the owner of a pain management clinic were sentenced to 35 years in prison for running a pill mill.

Dr. Gazelle Craig wrote approximately 18,000 prescriptions for hydrocodone and roughly 15,500 for carisporadal. The combination of the two drugs is a “dangerous cocktail with no known medical benefits,” the Department of Justice said.

Dr. Craig, along with clinic owner Shane Faithful, illegally distributed over two million dosage units of hydrocodone.
