HHS: First 100 Days of Drug Pricing Blueprint

In the first 100 days since the Trump administration issued its American Patients First blueprint, 15 drug companies have cut list prices, reversed planned price hikes or called for price freezes for the rest of the year, HHS said.

The report points out two notable shifts in drug pricing behavior: 60 percent fewer brand-drug price increases and 54 percent more generic and brand-drug price decreases compared to the same periods in 2017.

“Cutting list prices and rolling back proposed increases in particular are an unprecedented recognition of the fundamental changes going on in drug markets,” said Dan Best, senior advisor to the HHS Secretary for drug pricing reform.
