FDA Seeks Information on Abuse and Diversion Potential of 16 Drugs

October 16, 2018

The FDA requested comments on the potential for abuse and trafficking of 16 drugs, to help the agency as it prepares a U.S. position for the WHO’s Expert Committee on Drug Dependence.

The agency called for information on the designer drugs ADB-FUBINACA, FUB-AMB, ADB-CHMINACA and CUMYL-4CN-BINACA, as well as cyclopropyl fentanyl, methoxyacetyl fentanyl, ortho-fluorofentanyl, para-fluoro butyrfentanyl and para-methoxybutyrfentanyl. It also asked for information on tramadol, pregabalin and the cathinone derivative N-Ethylnorpentylone.

The WHO is considering whether to recommend that international restrictions be placed on the drugs.
