HHS Opens Cybersecurity Coordination Center

Deputy HHS Secretary Eric Hargan announced the formal opening of the Health Sector Cybersecurity Coordination Center as part of the federal government’s National Cyber Strategy.

The Department of Homeland Security will take the lead on the initiative while HHS will focus on information sharing with the healthcare and public health sector.

The coordination center will work with healthcare practitioners and organizations as well as cybersecurity information sharing organizations to analyze threats.  “Today’s announcement is a recognition of the importance we place on stakeholder engagement as part of our cybersecurity work,” Hargan said.
