The FDA granted Becton Dickinson 510(k) clearance for its BD Nano ergonomic pen needle, a device designed to provide more reliable subcutaneous injection depth for patients with diabetes.

The pen needle has a contoured needle base that concentrates and then distributes pressure closely around the injection site to give more reliable injection depth.

The device help patients better manage their diabetes by mitigating risks that result from varying user injection force.
