FDA Resumes Full Operations

FDA Commissioner Scott Gottlieb welcomed the end of the 35-day partial government shutdown and said that the agency would be quickly back up and running.

But the agency faces an immediate backlog of five weeks’ work and is likely to see a large influx of queries from drugmakers.

The continuing resolution passed by the Senate and House on Friday only funds the government until February 15, after which the shutdown would resume in the absence of further funding.
