Synopsys Launches 3D Imaging Tool After Gaining CE Mark

Synopsys announced the launch of its Simpleware Scan IP Medical product, an imaging tool for medical scanners, after it received the CE Mark.

The software interface and image segmenting system is used to create models from 3D imaging data. It is designed to transfer imaging information from a medical scanner, such as an MRI or CT scanner, to an output file. After creating the output file, the software can convert the data into high-quality computer models used for engineering design and simulation.

The product, which has also received the FDA’s 510(k) clearance, can be used as pre-operative software for simulating and evaluating a patient’s surgical treatment options.
