Boston Scientific Receives CE Mark for New Version of Anti-Stroke Implant

Boston Scientific has been handed the CE Mark for the latest model of its Watchman anti-stroke implant, which is designed to reduce the risk of stroke in patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation.

The new Watchman FLX simplifies implantation so that it can be used in a wider range of patient anatomies and allows physicians to recapture and reposition the device during the procedure.

The new version gives flexibility in implantation so that placement can be customized using a fully enclosed and rounded frame designed to enhance sealing in the left atrial appendage.
