Via Surgical Gains 510(k) Clearance for Lockable Surgical Mesh

The FDA handed Via Surgical 510(k) clearance for its FasTouch absorbable fixation device, an automated lockable surgical mesh used to fixate prosthetic material to soft tissue.

The device is intended to be used in minimally invasive and open surgical procedures, such as hernia repairs.

The FasTouch deploys lightweight sutures with a minimal amount of material that offer a strong fixation due to the locked-loop suture design.
