Hologic Gains CE Mark for Slide Preparation System

Hologic has earned the CE Mark for its ThinPrep Genesis processor, a device used for cytology slide and molecular test preparation.

The system, which has not yet been approved by the FDA, offers increased automation functions compared to older instruments and is able to prepare slides for cytology and aliquot samples for molecular testing.

The processor includes an LED touchscreen interface and it can automatically barcode samples for accurate tracking, reducing the burden of some manual steps.
