FDA Clears CoapTech’s Feeding Tube Placement Device

April 29, 2019

The FDA granted CoapTech 510(k) clearance for its PUMA-G System, a device that uses ultrasound to assist in the placement of feeding tubes.

The device foregoes surgery by using ultrasound imaging to place percutaneous feeding tubes in patients who cannot eat or swallow.

Trained clinicians can use the system to safely place a G-tube at the bedside, which “should keep patients progressing on their journey towards recovery and home,” said Steven Tropello,  CoapTech’s founder and chief medical officer.
