Xcision’s Breast Cancer Radiotherapy System Gains CE Mark

Xcision Medical earned the CE Mark for its GammaPod cancer treatment system, a device designed to administer non-invasive breast irradiation treatments to patients with breast cancer.

The device delivers higher doses of more focused radiation in fewer treatments than conventional therapies, the company developer said.

The system uses a custom-fit breast cup immobilization system to reduce motion of breast tissue and enable accurate delivery of the treatment.
