EMA Suggests Composition for Flu Vaccine

The European Medicines Agency said flu vaccine makers should include H1N1-like virus strains, H3N2-like virus strains and B/Colorado/06/2017-like strains for the next flu season.

Biosimilar makers hoping to sell quadrivalent vaccines should add B/Phuket/3073/2013-like strains to the other three, the EMA said.

The agency wants biosimilar sponsors to be ready for the 2019-2020 flu season and is urging sponsors to get their applications in by June 17.
