Canady Buys Up French Robotic Surgical Firm

June 17, 2019

Canady Life Sciences has acquired French robotics company Endocontrol, a deal that sees the U.S. firm gain patent-protected voice-operated robotic technology used in laparoscopies and other products.

The acquisition means Canady will be able to integrate Endocontrol’s motorized robotic endoscopic positioner—a device used in laparoscopies that is controlled by foot or voice—in addition to a compact motorized uterus positioner for gynecologic surgery.

The deal also nets Canady a robotic needle holder and a five-millimeter motorized articulated surgery device that enables access to intra-abdominal areas.
