Health Canada Gives Go-Ahead for ThermoGenesis’ Stem Cell Harvester

June 18, 2019

Cesca Therapeutics subsidiary ThermoGenesis has won Canadian approval for AutoXpress (AXP) II, a system that gathers stem and progenitor cells from umbilical cord blood.

The sterile system is designed for use in public and private cord blood banks. It automatically separates, processes and stores hematopoietic stem cell concentrates taken from cord blood.

The device is able to simultaneously process multiple cord blood units in one centrifuge and recovers high amounts of mononuclear cells in a targeted volume.
