Canon Medical’s CT Image Reconstruction Algorithm Gets FDA Greenlight

The FDA has cleared Canon Medical’s neural network image reconstruction technology, the Advanced Intelligent Clear-IQ Engine (AiCE).

The AiCE’s deep learning algorithm can distinguish between the signal and noise, allowing it to suppress noise while improving signal during CT imaging.

With the ability to learn from the high image quality of model based iterative reconstruction (MBIR), the algorithm can reconstruct CT images with improved spatial resolution at a significantly faster speed than MBIR.
