FDA Clears RaySearch’s Radiation Therapy Treatment Planner

The FDA granted RaySearch 510(k) clearance for its RayStation 8B, an upgraded version of its system that helps in planning radiation therapy treatments.

The automated treatment planning system uses neural network models and machine learning to deliver personalized treatment plans.

The machine learning capability means that the system can use a clinic’s data in its modeling, in addition to the models provided by RaySearch. The platform can generate contours of organs in 45 seconds.
