CVS Health Launches Trial of Home Hemodialysis Device

CVS Health has announced the start of a clinical trial that evaluates the safety and efficacy of its HemoCare Hemodialysis System, a device that allows patients to do dialysis at home.

The trial will include up to 70 patients at up to ten U.S. sites. In its initial phase, subjects and their caregivers will be taught how to use the system and will then begin at-home dialysis.

The hemodialysis system includes built-in safety features and aims to make home dialysis safe and simple.
