Bayer Pulls Two Lots of Hemophilia A Medication

July 24, 2019

Bayer has announced a voluntarily recall of its Kogenate FS antihemophilic factor, a medicine used to help hemophilia A patients treat and control bleeding.

The recall encompasses two lots of 2000 IU vials in the U.S. Certain vials in the lots were labeled as Kogenate FS but actually contained the drugmaker’s FVIII hemophilia A treatment, the German drugmaker said.

The company said it recalled the drugs over public safety concerns and estimates that around 990 vials contained the incorrect hemophilia treatment.
