Apyx Gets 510(k) Clearance for Laparoscopic Handpiece

Apyx Medical received 510(k) clearance from the FDA for its J-Plasma Precise Handpiece device used in laparoscopic surgeries.

The handheld device is indicated for cutting, coagulating and ablating soft tissue during open and laparoscopic surgical procedures.

The product is equipped with the company’s Cool-Coag technology, which allows surgeons to switch between J-Plasma energy, standard monopolar coagulation energy and plasma beam coagulation.
