Florida Lays Out Plan to Import Canadian Drugs

Florida has submitted a plan to HHS for how the state will import lower-cost prescription drugs from Canada.

The Trump administration is supportive, but the plan faces some serious legal and technical hurdles, including a requirement that HHS must first approve it.

Florida will also need to find a Canadian distributor willing to supply the prescription drugs and none has stepped forward so far. The plan is also getting pushback in Canada from those who fear that drug exports to the U.S. will create shortages there.
