FDA, DEA Issued Joint Warnings to Website Operators for Online Opioid Sales

October 9, 2019

In a first for the agencies, the FDA and the Drug Enforcement Administration issued joint  warning letters to four website operators for illegally selling opioids.

The website operators — Meds4U, Divyata, Euphoria Healthcare and JCM Dropship — were operating ten “rogue pharmacies” that were illegally marketing unapproved and misbranded versions of opioid medicines, including tramadol, the agencies said.

The warning letters also cited the networks for failing to register their online pharmacies with the DEA while advertising the sale of opioids, in violation of the Controlled Substances Act.
