Protom Grabs FDA Clearance for Proton Therapy System

Protom’s Radiance 330 single room proton therapy system installed at Massachusetts General Hospital has received 510(k) clearance from the FDA.

The compact, customizable device delivers proton therapy using advanced pencil beam technology and an integrated imaging and control system.

Radiance’s pencil beam scanner provides superior dose sculpting and greater beam efficiencies than other proton beam delivery methods, reducing side effects and improving patient outcomes and quality of life, the company said.
