T2 Biosystems Earns CE Mark for Antibiotic Resistance Diagnostic

T2 Biosystems’ diagnostic test for pinpointing genes that may indicate resistance to common antibiotics, the T2Resistance Panel, has been CE Marked.

The panel can to identify 13 of the most significant genetic markers for resistance on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s antibiotic-resistance threat list, including genes that indicate resistance to common antibiotics like carbapenems, vancomycin, penicillin and others.

The diagnostic test detects the resistance markers in three to five hours using whole blood samples, the company said.
