Siemens Healthineers CT Scanner Cleared

Siemens Healthineers received FDA clearance for its new SOMATOM X.cite single-source computed tomography scanner with its myExam Companion intelligent user interface.

The interface guides the user through the exam workflow with questions about the patient, enabling optimization of the scanner. The myExam Companion also combines patient data such as gender and age with other user or machine-observable information.  

The SOMATOM X.cite is the first CT scanner launched with the intelligent user interface concept. In combination with a large 82cm gantry bore, it offers advanced imaging capabilities with greater patient comfort, the company said.
