Dollar Tree Draws Warning Letter for Importing Adulterated OTC Products

November 26, 2019

Discount store chain Dollar Tree was hit with an FDA warning letter for receiving adulterated over-the-counter drug products from foreign drugmakers in hot water with the agency.

The company received adulterated drugs from overseas manufacturers that were issued warning letters in 2018 for serious CGMP violations, the agency said. It also used contract manufacturers to produce its Assure Brand OTC drugs and other drug products that had received warning letters.

All of the companies involved were placed on an import alert and Dollar Tree was told about the warning letters at the time they were sent out, the FDA said.
