Bipartisan Lawmakers Begin Work on Cures 2.0

December 9, 2019

Reps. Fred Upton (R-Mich.) and Diana DeGette (D-Colo.) released their “vision” for a second version of the 21st Century Cures Act.

Cures 2.0 aims to improve access to new treatments and the lawmakers plan to focus the legislation on digital health, coverage of medicines, and harnessing real world evidence to improve health.

Upton and DeGette are asking for public comment by Dec. 16 on what Cures 2.0 should include. The first iteration of the legislation became law on Dec. 13, 2016.
