Schiller Posts Field Safety Notice for Defibrillators

Schiller’s Tempus LS defibrillators may give off unexpected discharges and experience temporary defibrillation impedances, the company said in a field safety notice.

The possible impedance can occur if there is ground contact between the device and the patient, while the internal discharge can be triggered “in rare circumstances” when the defibrillator detects a voltage variation.

The devicemaker has implemented hardware changes to fix the issues, which means the devices must be returned to the manufacturer for maintenance.
