Roche Earns CE Mark for Meterless Blood Glucose Reader App

Roche has earned CE Mark certification for its Accu-Chek SugarView, a mobile application that can determine blood glucose levels without using a meter.

The app uses a smartphone camera to determine blood glucose range by snapping two pictures of the company’s Accu-Chek Active test strip product.

The SugarView app uses an algorithm to rank blood glucose results from the test strip from “low” to “very high” and offers basic information on further actions to take.
