Smiths Medical Recalls Syringe Infusion Pump Over Firmware Issues

Smiths Medical recalled its Medfusion 4000 device after discovering an anomaly in the syringe pump’s firmware.

The glitch could cause the portable syringe pump’s main audio and visual battery alarm functions to stop working and interrupt therapy.

The device is intended for small volume specialty infusions, including use in neonatal and pediatric patients.
