Cook Medical Recalls Catheters

December 19, 2019

Cook Medical issued a recall for its CrossCath support catheters because of a manufacturing error that could lead to adverse events.

Six lots of the devices, which are used in diagnostic and interventional procedures, have radiopaque marker bands that may be too loose or too tight.

Catheters manufactured between Aug. 13-16 have marker bands that may dislodge from their original position from being too loose or experience buckling from being too tight, the FDA said, in a safety alert.
