Aleva Earns CE Mark for Brain Stimulation Device

December 19, 2019

Aleva Neurotherapeutics has received the CE Mark for its DirectSTIM deep brain stimulation (DBS) system, an implantable device that is used in the treatment of Parkinson’s disease and its weakening of motor symptoms.

DirectSTIM’s technology does not require exact positioning, while current DBS systems require several hours to precisely position their implantable leads, the company said.
