Eko Earns Breakthrough Designation for Heart Failure Screening Algorithm

The FDA has granted breakthrough designation status for Eko’s ECG-based algorithm designed to improve screening for heart failure.

During a physical exam, the algorithm analyzes 15 seconds of ECG data collected by an Eko DUO digital stethoscope to help identify left ventricular ejection failure, a measurement used in the diagnosis of heart failure.

The technology gives physicians the capability to detect heart disease in patients before it develops into a more serious condition.
