Teleflex Issues UK Safety Alert for Needle Sets

Teleflex released a safety notice in the UK for its Arrow EZ-IO intraosseous vascular access needle sets, which may not be covered by their protective caps.

The company  received 32 complaints of needle safety caps dislodging, potentially causing the needles to protrude through their packaging. The field safety notice warns users not to use uncapped needles, citing sterility concerns.

Needles that are not capped should be properly disposed of and the company should be  contacted for reimbursement, Teleflax said.
