Life Spine’s Titanium Spacer Cleared by FDA

Life Spine’s titanium anterior lumbar interbody fusion (ALIF) spacer system has been cleared by the FDA, allowing the stand-alone spacer to be sold in the U.S.

The spacer system comes in 34mm by 24mm, 38mm by 28mm, and 42mm by 30 mm sizes, three curve options to account for the inward curving of the spine, and heights from 11mm to 17mm.

Surgeons may choose to use barbs instead of screws, which employ teeth and a threaded head to simplify removal for supplemental fixation.
