Cardinal Health Flags Surgical Gown Sterility Problem

Cardinal Health alerted customers to possible contamination of its Level 3 surgical gowns, urging  them to discontinue use of all affected gowns and the PreSource procedural packs that include the gowns.

Level 3 gowns are used in a wide-range of surgical procedures to  protect patient and hospital personnel from transfer of microorganisms, body fluids and particulate material.

The FDA said it is concerned about possible contamination of the products and it is “working to assess the cause and full impact of these concerns.”
