Axonics Programmer Nabs Premarket Approval

Axonics Modulation Technologies was granted supplemental premarket approval for an enhanced programmer for its rechargeable sacral neuromodulation (r-SNM) system.

The new programmer is used to program the Axonics external trial neurostimulator as well as the implantable neurostimulator for both the procedure and post-operative use.

The programmer is a custom-made tablet with a color touchscreen and an easy-to-use graphical interface streamlines the patient programming process.

The programmer includes a predictive programming algorithm that translates intra-operative responses and suggests how to program for optimum therapy, reducing the need to adjust therapy post-implant. The wireless system reduces surgery time and simplifies post-implant device programming.
