Reversed Image Error Prompts Recall of Laryngoscope Adapters

King Systems recalled 171 adapters for its portable King Vision Video laryngoscope devices after they were found to cause image reversal.

According to the company, the issue causes user actions to be reversed for left and right directions. The error could potentially create difficulties or delays during intubation, the placement of a plastic tube into a patient’s trachea to create an open airway.

The recall spans six lots of adapters, and arrangements are being for replacement or reimbursement. The company said that it had not received any adverse event reports.
