7D Surgical Cleared by FDA, Health Canada for Cranial Biopsy Kit

The FDA and Health Canada have cleared 7D Surgical’s cranial biopsy kit for its MvIGS system that uses image guidance to target brain lesions during needle biopsy procedures.

The Canadian devicemaker’s machine-vision image guided system uses an integrated surgical light with an embedded camera and algorithms to assist in spinal surgery.

The system reduces patient and medical staff exposure to intraoperative radiation due to its use of visible light.
