Akesis’ Stereotactic Radiosurgery System Nabs FDA Clearance

February 7, 2020

Akesis received 510(k) clearance for its Galaxy RTx product, an advanced gamma stereotactic radiosurgery system for use in intracranial radiosurgeries.

The system features 360-degree rotational delivery to give more flexibility in dose distribution compared to traditional radiosurgery devices. It also provides real-time, in-line imaging.

“With a radiologic accuracy of <0.5mm, the Akesis Galaxy…provides sharp dose fall-off and potentially better sparing of organs at risk,” the company said.
