Icometrix has received 510(k) clearance from the FDA for its Icobrain EP, a tool that uses artificial intelligence to assess brain scans and identify the causes of epilepsy.

The Icobrain EP produces quantitative reports through MRI brain scan analyses that help to identify the causes of intractable or uncontrollable epilepsy, disorders in which seizures do not come under control using treatment.

The AI tool can detect subtle abnormalities in the outer layer of the cerebrum in epileptic patients that may go unseen by traditional means.
