Paragon 28’s Plantar Plate Repair System Earns 510(k) Clearance

February 20, 2020

The FDA has cleared Paragon 28’s Paratrooper plantar plate repair system, which allows surgeons to use a dorsal or plantar approach when repairing the foot’s plantar plate.

The system uses an all-suture anchor implant that is fixed into bone or soft tissue. The all-suture implant allows surgeons to repair the plantar plate using an array of fixation and approach techniques while preserving bone and tissue.

Following insertion and tensioning of the suture implant, the “sock” contracts and forms a flat anchor that keeps the implant from pulling out.
