Sen. Grassley Predicts Passage of Drug Pricing Bill by May 20

Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) said he expects his drug pricing bill S. 2543 to pass in the Senate by May 20, just two days before the deadline to renew expiring healthcare programs.

In remarks at a health care conference in Iowa, Grassley said that his job now is to convince Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) that the bill should be brought to the floor for a vote.

Grassley said in a floor speech that he intends to introduce an updated version of the bill “in the coming weeks.” The Senate Finance Committee has already advanced the bill to the full chamber for a vote.
